Reborn into the new world, with everything set to: Zero
Thankfully, Truck-kun was not needed this time. Pfew!
I admit, my guilty pleasure is watching isekai anime (as you might have inferred from the tongue in cheek title of this post). Mostly the reason is rather simple – previously i was very into MMORPG. Watching isekai is akin to grinding in MMO, minus the actual grinding and the drama involved. It usually is just a power fantasy, revolving around a character, mysteriously transported to another world (the name isekai means: another/new world). More often than not they start from nothing, using their ingenuity and skills from 'previous life' to get things going. With the otaku trivia out of the way, let me show how terrible the state of things really is with my socials as of today:
Notes: i divided things into "personal" and "world building project" (unnanounced)
categories. It does not really matter since everything is around zero anyway.
The personal website is this one, you are currently right here. I just opened it up, and got analytics: there's 1 person who visited it since, and it is I. No one else, so that's a zero. My personal instagram has 85 people, i have not updated it in 5 years give or take, so that surely does not count. For all practical reasons the only thing which has any traction at all is my YT channel where i used to upload mostly Houdini tutorials and lessons, and now focus on Unreal Engine videos. Quick addition: most of my other things that are not mentioned in the graph are zero as well (i didn't include for it is fruitless entirely).
My point is – it really does feel like i've been reborn into this new world of social media, starting from literal zero. I will be trying to make it work using all i got, so if nothing else, you can get on this train while we are just getting started. Best place to hop on and/or share and discuss ideas with me is on my X/twitter.
Plans before 2025 begins
I am genuinely excited for the things i have planned, hoping to start uploading videos to my personal channel, song. If you are reading this in November '24 or later, a video or two should already be there. There, i said it, it is official now, no weaseling out of this one.
Since Unreal Engine 5.5 preview dropped as of the time i am writing this, i am planning to go full-steam on my UE-related YT channel, with new videos and uploads. BTW, UE community is amazing, and i love sharing anything from overviews to technically detailed posts and vids about it. Full steam it is!
footnotes:
i do like other anime as well, and sometimes when i do not read material on programming and machine learning, i enjoy a dozen or two minutes reading manga – currently going through Shangri-La Frontier and Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku (what? i'm just being honest here, okay?)
